how to entertain people in secondlife?
"Jayce Logan: On Assignment – Smokin’ Aces Second Life Assassin
It’s not everyday you’re approached with an offer to be a hired gun, but that’s exactly what I found in my inbox when I checked my e-mail this afternoon. I was told L$1,000,000 was up for grabs and all I’d have to do was sign up and strategically place little bits of lead into the skulls of some other people. Hey, for a cool million? Who’d turn that down? "

looking at the hype around secondlife it would be pretty naive to believe this plattform would be and stay the unique social virtual reality project. i would not be very surprised if anywhere in silicon valey or another part of the international, some venture capital fed nerds would work on the the next secondlife.
yesterday sony presented the new 3d-world home a mix of microsofts live, the sims and parts and secondlife. lets keep in mind, that sony has great experiences with the field of mmorg with games like everquest or star wars galaxy. i am higly curious what we can expect from japan as next in this field. the grafic looks great and secondlife ist years behind to this.
i think the introduction of sonys new world is good occasion to take a short look around the world of metaverse-projects.

virtual reality is changing very fast in the net. its nearly impossible to say which plattform or concept will assert oneself.
at the moment i still believe or hope that it will be an open standardized concept like http / html for the web.
these four projects are know to me, and have the potential to build up an more open standard as secondlife is at the moment.
